Identity Euphoria, 2025

Glass, water, feather + video 1m 42s

15 cm tall, 10 cm diameter

In June of 2025, I installed the artwork for the Culterim Independent Class group show. The same day, I got sterilised. I was exhibiting Maiden Mother Crone for the first time and I've just graduated as the last one. I finally became useless to the society as a means of production of humans and I continued to disperse my knowledge instead. 4 days after my stitches were out, I went swimming with my boyfriend for the first time this summer. Right there, floating on the surface of Plötzensee, I felt it fully for the first time. My body is mine. My body has no other purpose than my fulfilment in this lifetime. It only took 31 years to experience this revelation. It only took minus 4 cm of my fallopian tubes. I became fully myself. It felt the same as a ritualistic tattoo or scarification. a permanent body modification in service of my spirituality. My struggle to be taken seriously when I said I chose not to give birth ended. My identity euphoria kicked in, and it's here to stay.

About materials and technique

Embroidery floss was bought in a local independent shop, and canvases were upcycled from cheap and illegal reproductions of "In the Car" by Roy Lichtenstein, mass-printed in China, and bought at the Polish seaside for 2 PLN each (0,47 Euro).

Reaching far back to my first means of intentional visual expression, I rediscovered embroidery, a technique my grandmother taught me. When other kindergarteners used crayons, I was stitching flowers on a piece of fabric.

About the subject:

Before the phase of infatuation with the West, before succumbing to Christianity, before building the first temple, my ancestors would simply practice mindfulness in the forest. No prayers to an unseen overlord, just appreciation of nature in front of our eyes.

It was essential for me to create the piece without overproducing waste. I reclaimed canvases, painting over pro-consumerism pop art. I reclaimed a technique of my ancestors. I embodied the importance of respecting nature by creating a sustainable artwork.

Skóra (Skin/Leather), 2022-2024

acrylic on paper, scans of the artist’s body

triptych 70 x 50 cm each

Skóra is an evocative triptych exploring identity, resilience, and transformation. Combining acrylic on worn-out paper with enlarged scans of the artist’s body, this 70 x 50 cm (each) series symbolizes the tension between self-perception and societal pressures.

Inspired by skin as a canvas of life’s experiences and leather as a protective layer, Skóra celebrates the beauty of imperfection and the strength found in vulnerability.

Dive deeper into the creative journey behind this piece by watching the artist’s research video here: Skóra Research Video.

Price: 15,000 €

The work premiered during Berlin Art Week in "Self" exhibition in September 2024, later shown at "Drift & Decay" in February 2025 and Culterim | Studios Show #4 in April 2025.

Unreal Fortune is a conceptual artwork that captures the ephemeral and invaluable—air. This thought-provoking piece features 149.5 ml of fresh free-range air from a Polish meadow, sealed on May 22, 2020, within glass jars. The collection invites viewers to question the nature of value and wealth. Each jar (28 cm x 22 cm x 5.5 cm) is priced at 15,000 €, with the complete set available for 150,000 €.

Through this work, the artist reflects on the dichotomy of worth: the jars hold immense value because of the artist's proclamation, yet remain unsold. This paradox mirrors the experience of navigating life as both a struggling artist and a "wealthy" individual, underscoring themes of hope, patience, and faith.

Dive deeper into the inspiration and meaning behind Unreal Fortune by exploring the artist's creative process and its intriguing quantum-like state of existence.

Price: 15,000 € per jar | 150,000 € for the complete set.

Experience in person

It consists of 3 layers, one physical and two non-material. The first layer uses curtains from my own apartment to create an atmosphere of intimacy in this most personal work yet.

Three small works are arranged in a circle, which represent the stages of a woman’s life: Maiden, Mother, Crone.

Each of them has a corresponding QR code leading the viewers deeper into the complex ideas behind each work.

Like many of my other works, most of the art actually emerges in the minds of people interacting with it. As artists, the fruits of our feelings are on display; we wish them so. My private thoughts, however? Here, going deeper requires an exchange. Your data plan and the processing power of your smartphone for my deep conclusions.
